Video: 2010 Dodge Viper ACR-X is revealed, 640 HP turn-key racer to have its own series Posted: 14 Dec 2009 03:36 AM PST It really seems like Dodge is pulling out all the stops to make sure that its performance model, the Viper, will get a proper good bye once its lifecycle ends in 2010. Besides the revamped 2010 stock model, and the two special editions of the track-oriented ACR edition, the ACR 1:33 and the Voodoo ACR, the company will also launch a special turn-key racer, the ACR-X. The new model is especially made for the track, and is powered by a 8.4-liter V10, which was heavily modified and produces 640 HP, 40 horses more than the standard ACR. Multiple modifications like a roll cage, improved aerodynamics and track suspension have been added, not to mention its weight, which was cut by 160 pounds. The model will cost $110,000, and will be showcased in the Dodge Viper spec racing series, which will debut in July, 2010. Check out a video of the ACR-X’s after the jump. Aston Martin still considers Lagonda SUV a good idea, photo gallery included Posted: 14 Dec 2009 02:33 AM PST When you say Aston Martin, you think elegance, style, performance and a great sound. But soon, it seems you will add to that list the Lagonda SUV, as the company revealed a new set of pictures with the weird-looking model, based on the Mercedes-Benz GL platform. It’s definitely something out of this world, but I don’t really think that a market will be found for it. Sure it will take on the Porsche Cayenne, but I’m also positive that almost no Aston Martin fan would want anything to do with it. What do you believe? Take a look in the photo gallery below and leave a comment with your view. Photo Gallery: Aston Martin Lagonda SUV Source: Aston Martin Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

Revamped BMW M1 Concept to appear at the Dubai Motor Show Posted: 14 Dec 2009 02:07 AM PST BMW has announced that a revamped edition of its M1 Concept, which was released as an hommage to its famous supercar which was released in 1978, will be making an appearance at the Dubai International Motor Show, which will begin tomorrow in the Middle East. The concept has recently been at the center, alongside the upcoming performance model in the 1 Series lineup, of many rumors, which reveal that it will borrow many elements to a new supercar, which may or may not bear the M1 badge, and will rival the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Sadly no details were given about the concept which will appear tomorrow, so we’re going to have to wait and see just what new things the Bavarian company will showcase to its Arab public. Next generation Nissan GT-R R36 to go hybrid, will offer 600 HP Posted: 14 Dec 2009 01:25 AM PST Yes Nissan fast, the title is correct. According to Best Car magazine from Japan, the company will reveal the next generation of the GT-R model, the R36 one, to be a fully-hybrid performance car. Enthusiasts will see the new 440 HP gasoline engine, weaker by 40 HP than the current engine found on the R35 model, mated to an electric motor capable of delivering 160 HP. The result? A combined figure of 600 HP which will take on higher priced sportscars, and with the handling testimony of the current generation, will certainly give them a run for their money. Would you approve such a thing or believe that Nissan should keep the GT-R a normal sportscar? Share your thoughts while we await an official confirmation. Mugen-tuned edition of Honda CR-Z also leaked through a brochure Posted: 14 Dec 2009 01:16 AM PST Well that was certainly fast, after just a few days since a leaked brochure showcased the production version of the upcoming Honda CR-Z hybrid model, a new leak reveals the customization options available for the Japanese model from Mugen, a traditional Honda tuner. No concrete details about performance were available, but it seems that the company will offer a complete body kit, including front bumper and splitter, side skirts, a rear bumper plus a wing. New wheels, possibly 17-inch, are included, which may be wrapped in a set of performance tires. Chances are you might also see some enhancements made to the regular engine of the CR-Z or even to the electric motor, in order to prevent the new Honda model from being all show and no go. Expect official word at the beginning of next year, when the CR-Z will enter production. Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

New details appear about the BMW 1 Series M-car, still not called the M1 Posted: 14 Dec 2009 01:05 AM PST BMW is definitely in a nasty position right now, as it wants to please fans of its popular 1 Series and offer them a true performance-oriented edition, crafted by its engineers at the M division, but doesn’t want to upset history fans by naming the aforementioned model the M1, which belonged to the famous supercar from the Bavarian carmaker. Nothing is for sure in terms of its name, but at least the mechanical side of this baby M-car is taking shape quite nicely. It seems that the company will tweak the six-cylinder, twin-turbo unit from the 135i, taking it to 400 HP and 370 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to the rear end, through a differential and a suspension taken straight from the bigger M3. A BMW source did confirm to EVO magazine that a supercar will be made, but until then, the M division needs to keep on selling cars, which means that the 1-Series M model, which will no doubt resemble the Tii concept the company showed off in 2007, will roll off the assembly line first.
