Mitsubishi offers four distinct trims from Outlander, all revised with a fresh and aggressive style. Line two-cylinder Outlander has four models - the base ES and well-equipped SE - and the two V6 models, feature-packed and the new XLS-for-2010 GT. ES, SE, and XLS models are available with 2WD or AWC. Outlander GT Premium is the exclusive standard by control Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC).

Outlander ES and SE models equipped with 2.4-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine that produces 168 hp and 167 lb.-ft. torque, and the CVT transmission standard Sportronic ®. For California, ES and SE two-wheel drive models PZEV-certified and offers 161 horsepower and 161 lb.-ft. torque. Outlander XLS and GT models equipped with the enhanced 3.0-liter MIVEC V6 engine, now producing 230 hp and 215 lb.-ft. torque, and the standard 6-speed transmission with Sportronic ®-Neutral Idle Logic.


2010 Outlander with a new design saw the addition of a special fighter jet front grille, which evokes the history of the family sporty Mitsubishi line-up. Backing up that looks at the GT is the addition of faint front bumper and cover design of lightweight aluminum roof.

Power Choices

2010 Outlander design offers an interesting mix of sporty dynamics, styling stands out, five or seven-passenger versatility, plus advanced user technology and onboard entertainment options. Outlander unique flat-fold tailgate helps make cargo loading easier and can also serve as a tailgate seat that supports up to 440 pounds.

Available with 2WD or the AWC, the Outlander ES and SE models are supported by a 2.4-liter DOHC MIVEC four-cylinder engine working with Sportronic ® continuously variable transmission (CVT). SE feature magnesium steering wheel paddle shifters. 2.4-liter four-cylinder produces 168 hp and 167 lb.-ft. peak torque. Counter-balance shafts, a system patented by Mitsubishi more than 30 years ago to reduce engine vibration, helping to give 2.4-liter model Outlander smooth, quiet performance, a trait further enhanced by the CVT. Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) system controls valve timing on both intake and exhaust camshafts to optimize performance at all engine speeds.

The 2010 Outlander XLS and GT models use a revised-for-2010 230 hp 3.0-liter MIVEC V6, increases of 10 hp from the previous, and Sportronic ® six-speed automatic transmission with magnesium steering wheel paddle shifters. S-AWC system utilizing first-in-class Active Differential Front (AFD) and electronically controlled center differential system, which distributes the driving force intelligently from front to back and side to side to the front wheels. Motorists can use the "asphalt, snow, or lock" selector button to switch between modes, providing full-time traction during any weather situation.

Outlander Safety

The Outlander safety package is one of the most comprehensive in its class and includes advanced dual-stage front air bag control system enhancements (SRS) with the inhabitants of sensors, standard front seat-mounted side impact air bags and side curtain air bags with roll-over sensor (front and second row), plus energy-absorbing head protection interior pillars. All models include as standard anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), as well as tire pressure monitoring system.
