2011 Audi A7 Sportback revealed in first photos before its launch Posted: 25 Jul 2010 04:44 AM PDT As most of four-ring fans know by now, the 2011 Audi A7 Sportback will be officially revealed tomorrow, on July 26. Up until now, we were treated with the attractive Sportback concept, as well as with a teaser website. Now, thanks to a leak published by CarScoop, we have the first official pictures of the production model. As you can see above and below, the new Audi A7 Sportback is the company’s own answer to rivals like the Mercedes-Benz CLS, and will compete in the four-door coupe segment. In terms of its own range, as its name suggests, it will slot in ahead of the A6 and below the A8. There aren’t a lot of differences between the production model and the concept before it, except that now we have more practical door mirrors or air inlets in the front. Speaking of the front, the fascia bears almost the exact same lines as the 2011 A8, only a bit more angular this time. The sloping rear bears cues from the smaller A5 Sportback, and, at least from the profile, does resemble the BMW 5 Series GT (only it doesn’t seem that ghastly when Audi does it). Besides the regular models, which will sport an array of gasoline and TDI diesel units, performance versions like an S7 or RS7 are expected to appear in the following years. A hybrid might also be planned, but nothing is clear as of yet. Expect more details tomorrow, when Audi will formally unveil the new 2011 A7 Sportback four-door coupe.
