All new Range Rover Evoque revealed, based on LRX concept Posted: 02 Jul 2010 04:33 AM PDT Land Rover really surprised a lot of people when it showcased the LRX concept back in January 2008. This led to a lot of speculation over the fact that the British company wants to attack the new niche of the SUV market, specifically the compact, luxury models with coupe styling. Now, the company has officially revealed the Range Rover Evoque, the production-ready version of the LRX concept. As you can see above, the car bears almost the same design as the LRX, and will be available both as a three-door coupe and a five-door. As we revealed a few weeks ago, it will be the first model in Land Rover history that will be offered with front-wheel drive. There is a reason for that, as in front-wheel drive configuration, the Evoque will be the most efficient model in the whole lineup, emitting around 120 g/km of CO2 and averaging at a mighty impressive 50 mpg. This is also due to a very efficient diesel engine, which, as you can imagine, won’t reach the US market. Instead, a V6 is rumored to be making it across the Atlantic. The Range Rover Evoque will be making its official public debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September, and its US debut will be made in fall, 2011. Until then, you can hit the jump and check out a video of Land Rover’s official presentation of the Evoque, complete with an appearance from Victoria Beckham (we’re not kidding).
