Made of aluminium, the integral rear axle significantly improves the car's driving dynamics and its occupants' motoring comfort. The reduction of unsprung masses ensures a very high standard of agility on the road.
Forces transmitted from the wheels to the suspension are then passed on to the rear axle subframe by four track control arms. The front swing bearing on the rear axle subframe provides the longitudinal spring effect in wheel guidance so important for superior roll comfort. The bearings on the rear axle subframe then increase the longitudinal spring effect of the entire rear axle, ultimately ensuring a supreme level of roll and noise comfort.
