6-speed manual gearbox for a particularly sporty drive. Immensely smooth, with perfect ratios and precise, short-throw gearshifts. The addition of a sixth gear means that the gear ratios are more closely spaced, enabling you to make even more individual use of the engine’s power.
6-speed automatic transmission (here with standard non-smoker package) with Adaptive Transmission Management (ATM) and Steptronic. This transmission performs very fast, flawless gearshifts – for maximum dynamic performance (for 123d available from March 2008; in 130i with additional paddles mounted on the steering wheel).
