2011 Audi A7 spied without camouflage, shows massive hatch Posted: 25 Nov 2009 05:39 AM PST It seems that something got it into carmakers’ heads that long coupe models can work as hatchbacks in a five door configuration. Testimony to this is the new BMW 5 Series GT and, in just a year or so, the Audi A7, which was recently spied during testing in Germany. The model, which will be based on the Audi Sportback concept shown early this year in Detroit, will give the 5 Series GT a run for its money, and might even carve a dent in the new super sedan market, if the powerful engines will be offered (pretty much a certainty). Nothing much is know as of yet about the upcoming model, but judging by the aggressive looks and apparent functionality, although it might be difficult to open that big hatchback in a low underground parking area, the A7 seems set to be a best seller. Posted: 25 Nov 2009 05:20 AM PST Even though it is already up for sale in Europe, the Porsche Panamera is now just now headed to US shores, but due to a problem which was spotted on the ships carrying the 195 Panamera models destined for US showrooms, it seems that they will be delayed for a short amount of time. Not wanting to disappoint the people who already pre-ordered the German super sedan, Porsche has announced that it will be offering a complimentary luggage set to all of the 195 customers which are eagerly awaiting a Panamera as we speak. Don’t go thinking that this is just some cheap luggage set though, as the special Porsche-branded collection costs around $3,580. Yeah, some people pay that amount of money for a set of luggage. Also, it seems that the delay isn’t so bad, as 72 models will soon reach US shores, and the remaining 123 will land on November 30. Until then, Panamera customers can flaunt a luggage set which costs more than my first car. Source: Autoblog Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

Dodge Challenger R/T enters service with Broward County Sheriff department Posted: 25 Nov 2009 04:54 AM PST Besides seeing sportscars become more and more popular, a new trend is appearing, as various police departments are all revealing new models which will be used to enforce the law on the road. After Abu Dhabi’s Nissan GT-R, we know see some pure American muscle enter service with the Broward Country Sheriff department, in the form of a fully-equipped Dodge Challenger R/T model, straight from the performance team at Mopar. The car was also quite imposing, but if you add the black and white decals and police signals, you know you’ll pull over when you see it in the rear view mirror. What do you think? Leave a comment and let’s hope we won’t meet up with this car for the wrong reason. Source: Law Officer Connect via Autoblog Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

Citroen to launch the DS2 model based on Revolte concept in 2012 Posted: 25 Nov 2009 04:42 AM PST One of the standout concepts presented at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show was Citroen’s Revolte hybrid concept, which showed in which direction compact city cars will head. Now, it seems that the French company will indeed be basing one of its upcoming vehicles on the Revolte concept, as rumors indicate that the upcoming DS2 will borrow heavily from the hybrid. Do bear in mind that the DS2 won’t be featuring the hybrid drivetrain, as it will be offered with an assortment of fuel-efficient three-cylinder petrol engines, which will be revealed on the C3 in 2011, and also feature a 1.4-liter diesel engine. In terms of style, it will borrow some elements, but don’t go thinking that a glass radiator grille ornament will be coming to the production model when it will appear in 2012. Until that, the new DS3 will debut next year, and also see bigger brothers like the DS4 and DS5, based on the C4 and … wait for it … C5. Do you think that Citroen made a right call? I had a chance to see the Revolte in its concept flesh in Paris and it looked quite stylish. If the right elements will transition into production, it might just be the next big thing. Kia offers free car for baby born in one of its models and named after it Posted: 25 Nov 2009 04:27 AM PST This is proof of some clever marketing done in record time. It seems that a couple was driving to the hospital in a Kia after the wife was close to giving birth. Seeing as how the baby girl wouldn’t wait until her mother was in the hospital, the birth occurred in front of the establishment, in the couple’s Kia Carens model. Touched by the events, the couple decided to name the little girl Kia, in honor of the crazy adventure they had. Upon hearing this, Kia UK decided to offer the proud couple a brand new Carens, free of charge. “Our old car has been playing up recently, and I’d said to my mum I wouldn’t mind getting a Carens myself,” said Samantha, the mother. “Now we’ve got one – and little Kia did it all herself!” This is quite an interesting story, and it’s nice to see that even car companies have a heart … that and a keen marketing sense.
